A 56-year-old Racine man faces three felony charges of first-degree sexual assault of a child younger than 12 years old, according to a criminal complaint filed Monday in Racine County Circuit Court.
Each of the charges filed against Thomas J. Baggesen carries a prison term of 60 years. Baggesen, who is in custody on a $100,000 made his initial appearance Monday afternoon.
According to the criminal complaint:
Police spoke with a 17-year-old female, who stated the incidents occurred when she was 6 and 7 years old at a house in Racine. She identified the defendant as the person who assaulted her.
The female stated that on three different occasions, while she stayed at a home in Racine, that Baggesen assaulted her by touching her vaginal area and inserting his fingers inside of her. She stated that each time, he said he would kill a relative if she told.
Police also spoke to a relative, who stated the victim would spend the night about three times a month. She said the defendant referred to the female as “his whole
