UPDATE: The name of the shooting victim has been identified as Marcellus Martinez, 32, of Racine.
ORIGINAL STORY: The Racine Police Department is investigating a homicide that happened at 9 p.m. Monday in the 1700 block of LaSalle Street.
Officers were called to the area for reports of gun shots being fired in the area. A person, who has not been named, was found dead. Officials are investigating the case, according to a press release by the Racine Police Department.
“We will update this release when more information is available,” the press release reads. “No other information is being released at this time.”
Racine Police investigators are interested in any additional information that anyone may have about this crime. Any witnesses, or citizens with information, are urged to call the Racine Police Department Investigations Unit at (262) 635-7756.
