They say love conquers all and when hate reared its ugly head, Racine residents showed up en masse to support a local restaurant.

Jacob Francis posted a poor Google Review of Kabab & Grill, 1327 Washington Ave.,  on Monday saying that he wouldn’t eat there because it was owned by Muslims and he encouraged others to “support Americans, not eastern invaders.”

Owners Sheikh Umar and his son, Faryal Umar, responded with love and posted the review on their Facebook page with the message:  “Love for all hate for none. Have a blessed day Racine.” Sheikh is from Lahore, Pakistan, in the Punjab Province in 2004.

The community rushed to overcome the negativity with positive support as hundreds of people showed up for lunch on Tuesday.

On Facebook, hundreds of people shared the post and showered the owners with kindness.

Rachel Keller “You also have a blessed day – sorry you have to experience that ugliness. I have nothing but great things to say about the food at Kabab & Grill and the owners – you guys are great.”

Sue Bentz Skantz “I am so sorry. We have been to Kabob and Grill a few times, and the food and service has been stellar! You are truly a gem in this community!”

Nisha Rochelle “Sorry that you have to encounter ignorant people like this. Thank you for being apart of our Racine community. I’ve always had great experience at your establishment and the food is amazing. Keep up the good work.”

Trisha Levine I’m sorry that you’re dealing with this nonsense. Your food and service are first class. I guess that I’ll have to stop by your place for lunch this week! Wishing you blessings and lots of business!
