Candidates from districts 3, 6, 7, 8 participated in a forum March 22 at Gateway Technical College, answering questions from sponsors – Racine Taxpayers Association and Racine County Eye – and residents.
Topics ranged from what the candidates think about how the contentious employee handbook decision was made and if they supported removing it or if they did or would have voted to keep it as well as how they would work with the teachers’ union and whether or not vouchers and open enrollment has or should save taxpayers money.
The next Racine Unified candidate forum will feature districts 2, 4, 5, and 9, and it starts at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Pleasant Village Hall, 8811 Campus Drive.
