Record Store Day began when a group of like-minded friends decided to celebrate the existence of some 700 independently-owned record stores across the country. Held the second Saturday every April, Record Store Day was officially kicked off on April 19, 2008 with an in-store appearance by Metallica at Rasputin Music in San Francisco.

The good news for you? Well, for starters, many labels are putting out special vinyl releases to celebrate. Something that you’ve always needed to complete your particular collection just might be back in print this weekend.

Luckily for us, our local Mom ‘N Pop record shop, CD-DVD-Games Warehouse, will be celebrating Record Store Day this Saturday, April 13th, so stop in and grab that rarity that you’ve always been searching for! CD-DVD-Games Warehouse will open at 7:00 a.m., 3717 80th Street, Kenosha. For more info, call (262) 942-9400. Free coffee and donuts while supplies last.
