The new location, 5550 Durand Avenue, is a second Racine location and was built on the site of the former White Castle. That building has also been a Steak ‘n Shake. Popeye’s at 920 Washington Avenue will remain open.
An employee posted that workers are looking forward to welcoming big crowds and to breaking what many have called a curse at that location because so many restaurants have come and gone over the years.
“We plan on staying there a while and breaking the curse,” Lena Martinez wrote. “I hope to see everyone out at 10 a.m. Monday!”
