Exploring the sky above us, while standing firmly on the ground is the opportunity presented by the River Bend Nature Center. The center invites visitors to “explore our universe through astronomical photographs taken on the grounds of River Bend Nature Center.”

A Night Under the Stars is the program to be presented Wednesday, 6 p.m., at the center. It will begin with a presentation and be followed with a discussion. The event is free and open to the public. The River Bend Nature Center is located at 3600 N Green Bay Road in Racine.

The presenter is Racine local astronomical photographer, Erin Lalor, who will take visitors on a journey through the universe and tie in interesting space-related historical facts about Racine and the surrounding area.

River Bend Nature Center sates that it “exists to provide environmental education and outdoor recreation for adults, children and families of Racine County and surrounding areas.” For more information about River Bend Nature Center and its programs, or to make a financial contribution, contact Jeanne Dernehl at 262-639-1515.
