Rudolf Mayer, 82, passed away on Tuesday at his residence. He was born in Romania on December 4, 1934 and was the son of the late Karl and Philomina Wudi. Rudolf had been a resident of Racine since 1963.
Rudolf was employed at Harris Metals for 16 years and then at Thermal Transfer for 15 years. He was a member of St. Rita’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed his time at work and he loved sports, especially soccer and football. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Surviving are his daughter, Heidi E. Mayer; his stepson, Peter King; and many other stepchildren; grandchildren; one great grandchild; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marian (Nee: Reff); and 9 siblings.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Rita’s Catholic Church, with Reverend Rich O’Leary officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet Friday at the funeral home from 4-6 p.m. and on Saturday at the church, 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass.
