Elves were busy Tuesday night filling shoeboxes and wrapping them at Malicki’s Piggly Wiggly, 5201 Washington Avenue, for the 2014 Santa in a Shoebox program.

The total number of boxed donated and delivered won’t be known until the end of the week. Based on the number of boxes in the front of the store and hidden in a back room, it’s probably safe to say the Racine-area broke the 2013 record of 800 boxes.

Santa in a Shoebox elves begin delivering packages Wednesday to kids of all ages – adults included!
