The American Red Cross is assisting the tenants of a two-family home after a fire Saturday night caused $50,000 in damages.
Racine firefighters were called at 10:29 p.m. Saturday to the 1300 block of St. Patrick for a report of a fire. When crews arrived, they saw light smoke coming from a first floor window.
Firefighters went through the front door to attack the fire, which was located in the living room and included flames climbing up to the second floor. There was also damage to the basement and the attic space, according to a press release from RFD Lt. Scott Sorce.
No one was home at the time of the fire, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
