Racine –City of Racine Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services is proud to announce dual workshops on self-defense for women at the Caesar Chavez Community Center in August and September. These programs are presented in cooperation with Amigos de Cesar Chavez Center.

On August 22, Introduction to Women’s Self-Defense will run from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. This workshop is an introduction to the strategies, tactics and techniques of self-defense to build confidence in your ability defend yourself. The workshop is open to everyone 12 years and older. This is a free workshop and participants are encouraged to attend the seminar in September to continue learning and practicing.

On September 12 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. the Women’s Self Defense & Prevention Seminar will be held. This seminar is $25 per adult, but free for teens age 12 to 17 with a participating adult. Learn the facets of confidently defending yourself including the mindset of predators, situational awareness, de-escalation, and the mindset and physical techniques of self-defense.
