A Monroe man was arrested after arranging a sex encounter with a 15-year-old girl, who turned out to be an investigator with the Racine County Sheriff’s Department.

Nesbitt started talking to who he thought was a 15-year-old girl in April, according to press release by the Racine County Sheriff’s Department.

“I can’t stop thinking about how much I want to corrupt your innocence,” Nesbitt told the investigator, who was posing as a 15-year-old girl.

The two were to meet up on Saturday at a restaurant in Racine County. Nesbitt intended to take the girl to “an undisclosed location” and said he was attracted to middle school-aged girls. When investigators searched Nesbitt’s home, they found multiple images of child pornography at the home and on his cell phone.

Before living in Wisconsin, Nesbitt worked for several churches in Dubuque Iowa.

Racine County Sheriff Christopher Schmaling said these types of cases are often challenging and labor intensive.

“Although challenging and labor intensive, the arrest of this pedophile is a shining example of our ongoing effort to keep the children of Racine County safe,” he said.

The incident remains under investigation.
