A convicted sex offender picked up new charges of lewd and lascivious behavior after a woman reported Tuesday that he showed her his penis.

Larry L. Shaw, 58, of Racine, is charged with lewd and lascivious behavior as a repeat offender. He has prior convictions that include violating the sex offender registry, third-degree sexual assault, theft, obstructing police and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Court records state the Racine Police went to the 500 block of Eighth Street in Racine about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, after a woman reported that Shaw harassed her and made sexual advances toward her.

The woman told police that a few days earlier Shaw told her “you know I want you right” and then exposed his penis to her. She told him to leave her alone, and did not report the incident.

She called police on Tuesday after he kept making advances, offering to “help her” and asking her to come to his apartment so he could show her something.

Police spoke with Shaw, who denied exposing himself to the woman. He did admit to getting into an argument with her, and said she threatened to call police.

Shaw is also under investigation by the Department of Corrections for violating terms of his supervision. The alleged violations include the new charges, consuming alcohol and possessing cell phones. All three accusations are against the terms of his supervision.
