Racine County Sheriff’s deputies are asking for help from anyone who was driving northbound on I-94 shortly before 9 a.m. Saturday to find the driver of a car who hit another car and took off.
According to a written release from RCSD, deputies attempted a traffic stop at 8:54 a.m. on I-94 near Highway KR. Instead of slowing down and pulling over, though, the driver hit the accelerator.
Deputies say the driver hit another car just south of Highway 20 but didn’t slow down. The driver eventually reached speeds of 120 miles per hour before the pursuit was terminated near Highway G.
Wisconsin State Patrol is investigating the crash, but the Sheriff’s Department is asking if anyone witnessed the incident or can help find the suspect vehicle, which is described as a white, four-door sedan with front-end damage. There were two people in the car at the time.
If anyone has information about this incident, they can leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at (262) 636-9330, through the website www.racine.crimestoppersweb.com, or by sending a text message to CRIMES (274637) and typing in TIP417 with your text message.
