Residents of a home in the 5200 block of 16th Street were allowed to return to their home after Racine firefighters extinguished a small fire outside the house.
The fire department was called at 10:54 p.m. Saturday for a fire at the exterior of the home. When crews arrived, they quickly extinguished the fire and determined that utilities remained intact.
Residents were allowed back into their home. Division Chief Jeff Perkins said in a written release there was about $6,000 in damages; $5,000 to the exterior and $1,000 to contents of the home.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
