The village plan commission recommended approval for an occupancy permit for the building, which had been Friendly’s Organic Market, at its meeting on Tuesday.
In addition to soups and sandwiches, the business plans to offer bakery items. Cherie has been in the restaurant business her whole life as some of her family members have owned supper clubs in northern Wisconsin. She said she hopes to have the shop open by April 15.
“We’ll see,” she said. “I’m not sure we’ll be able to get it all done by then since we still need to put a small kitchen in.”
The Village Board is expected to give its final approval for the permit at a meeting set for Jan. 19.
