Mount Pleasant police say the Speedway on Washington and Emmertsen was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday morning, and they are asking for the public’s help apprehending the suspects.

At 4:36 a.m. two male suspects entered the gas station, 6209 Washington Avenue, and demanded cash. One of them displayed a handgun, and they got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Witnesses told police the men are both black and between the ages of 25 and 30. One of them has a heavy build and was wearing a grey hoodie with a blue cap. He is the one who had the handgun. The second man has a medium build and was wearing a brown work-type jacket.

No one was injured.

This incident remains under investigation, and MPPD is asking for information from anyone who might have seen something.
