The event will feature 45 steel drummers from ages 9 to 70-years old, local dancers, singers and professional musicians from all around the nation. They will rock the stage, and entice the audience to dance and groove. An Angel Pan Camps Production, this concert features Grammy Nominated Percussionist, Angel Lawrie, John Patti, Diane Thomas, Tracey Whorton and Racine’s own Steel Doves Steel Band and many others.

Fueled by her dreams, Angel Pan Camps Founder, Angel Lawrie, creates this concert for much more than entertainment. This is a place to show community support, to bring every person joy and to create the largest steel band in the U.S. right here, in Racine. This massive steel band, the Belle City Steelers, will be a Fine Arts Camp that creates a place for Southeastern Wisconsin’s At Risk Youth to find their voices, learn a new instrument, develop new confidence, feel loved and nurtured and thrive.

Throughout the programs at Angel Pan Camps, Lawrie implements her own teaching philosophies and techniques, which have been recognized by educational institutions. She has been a motivating force in the formation of alternative educational environments throughout the U. S. to help kids excel.

Lawrie is an educator, clinician and an advocate for Autism and students that experience emotional challenges, learning differences, and ADHD. She has been helping children learn through progressive strategies and performing her music for more than 30 years. She released her music CD, Angel, “Queen of the Bands” in 1994, and has conducted more than 15 ensembles nationwide.

Proceeds from this concert and capacity attendance will create a show of community support to secure grant funding for Angel Pan Camps to expand into the largest steel band in the U.S.
