Stephen D. Kovach, 67, died Wednesday at Ascension All Saints Medical Center. Born in Racine on Jan. 6, 1951, Stephen was the son of John and Margaret Mary (Nee: Sakach) Kovach. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked for J.I. Case Company for 30, retiring in 2003.

He will be dearly missed by his mother, Margaret Mary; his children, Stacy Roschen, Lisa Kovach; his grandchildren, Brett Kovach (fiancée, Amanda Vieau), Austin Kovach, Andrew Kovach, Brooklyn Roschen, Kaleb Babington; sister, Catherine Kovach; brother, John “Skip” (Mary) Kovach; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, John D. Kovach Jr., and brother, William J. Kovach.

Funeral services with full military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 20 at Maresh-Meredith Funeral Home, 803 Main St. Interment will follow at McPhearson Cemetery, Raymond, WI. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Tuesday at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials to one’s favorite charity have been suggested.
