Journalism. We believe it should help you live a better life.
That’s why we spend a lot less time on publishing mug shots and a lot more time helping you understand the employment market, figure out how to spend more time with friends and family with our events calendar, and what you can do to help businesses that have opened up. Make no mistake…we aren’t shy. We tackle the big stuff, like COVID and issues around race.
And if you believe in the value of journalism — that it should help, not exploit — please consider becoming a paid member of the Racine County Eye today. We can’t do this work without you.
Neighbors from across the greater Racine area are invited to help the Racine County Food Bank fill its shelves with a Stuff the Squad event at Malicki’s Piggly Wiggly.
From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 19 at The Pig, 5201 Washington Avenue, shoppers will have the opportunity to buy $5 and $10 pre-made bags food to stuff Mount Pleasant police squads that will be parked in front of the store.
The food bank is often referred to as the “United Way of Food” for the county because pantry shelves don’t just help less fortunate neighbors in Racine, it also provides needed food to residents in every corner of the county.
Stuff the Squad is an activity of the Community Oriented Policing (COP) program of the Mount Pleasant Police Department.
