A 31-year-old Sturtevant woman is in serious condition at Froedtert Hospital after being ejected from her car early Friday morning.
Racine County Sheriff’s Deputies say an off-duty detective with the Racine County Metro Drug Unit was on their way to work at 3:18 a.m. Friday when he came upon a single vehicle rollover accident in the 24000 block of Apple Road in the Town of Norway.
The detective found the driver – and only occupant of the car – some five feet away in a ditch complaining that she couldn’t feel her legs. The woman had not been driving with her seatbelt and was ejected from the car during the accident.
Investigators say it appears the woman was traveling east on Apple Road when she crossed the center line and left the road. The car struck a culvert and rolled over at least once.
The driver was transported to Froedtert Hospital by rescue and remains in serious condition. It is unknown if alcohol was a factor.
