A mini-van covered in algae was found submerged in Lake Michigan after a fisherman found at about 3:30 p.m. near the end of Reichert Court, according to Patrick Flynn, a witness.

No one was found inside the mini-van, but officers with the Racine Police Department told Flynn it likely had been submerged for months. A window was also broken out on the mini-van.

“A fisherman found it,” Flynn said. “The water was so clear that you could see it, but it was covered in algae.”

The Racine Fire Department left the scene.

We’ll update the story when we receive more information.
