ULTA Beauty will open in Mount Pleasant later this year.
Carolyn Sutphen from ULTA confirmed that a store will open this fall in the Village Center next to Kohl’s in the former Shoe Carnival space, 5500 Washington Avenue.
“I can confirm that a lease has been signed for an ULTA Beauty to open in Mount Pleasant, WI,” she said via email.
ULTA specializes in top-of-the-line cosmetics and lower prices, according to the ULTA website. There are 765 stores in 47 U.S. States, and four ULTA locations throughout the greater Milwaukee area. This is the first ULTA store in Racine County.
Racine County Eye was alerted to the possibility of ULTA earlier this year, but officials could not comment until a lease was signed.
At least 20 workers will be employed at the new store, Sutphen added. Applications will be accepted at www.ulta.com/careers a few weeks before the store opens.
As for why ULTA chose to open in Mount Pleasant, Sutphen would only say store locations are determined by how many customers and potential customers are in the area.
“ULTA Beauty opens in areas where there is easy access for our customers and where we feel that the local residents would be open to all that ULTA Beauty offers,” she added.
