A series of undercover drug purchases over several months led to seven criminal charges being filed Monday in Racine County Circuit Court against a 50-year-old Racine woman.
Karen E. Fuentes is charged with four felony counts of manufacturing/delivering a schedule IV drug, two felony counts of delivering a schedule I or II narcotic and one felony count of maintaining a drug-trafficking place.
If convicted of all charges, Fuentes faces a total fine of $60,000 and 39 years, six months in prison.
According to the criminal complaint: Officers with the Racine County Sheriff’s Office Metro Drug Unit used a confidential informant to purchase 20 Ritalin pills from Fuentes at 524 Monument Square on March 30.
Additional purchases were made April 13 and 27, May 17 and 21and June 18.
On April 13, the informant purchased 60 Clonezepam pills, an anti-anxiety medication. Additional purchases of of the drug were made May 17 (25 pills), May 21 (30 pills) and June 18 (30 in one purchase and 100 in another). The informant also purchased 10 Dextroamphetamine pills April 27.
Fuentes is due back in court Oct. 25 for an 8:30 a.m. preliminary hearing.
