Union Grove – No one was injured in a garage fire that happened at 11:45 a.m. Sunday at a residence at 816 15th Avenue.

A person called the Racine County Joint Dispatch Center after seeing “thick black smoke inside” and flames coming out of the garage, according to a press release by the Racine County Sheriff’s Department.

When a deputy got to the scene first, he told dispatchers no one was inside the building. But it was fully engulfed in flames. When firefighters from the Union Grove-Yorkville Fire Department arrived, they were able put out the fire quickly. Personnel from the Kansasville and Raymond fire departments also assisted in putting out the fire.

The cause of the fire is unknown. Officials say the garage and the contents inside the garage are a total loss, including a car and a motorcycle. Officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
