A female red-tailed hawk who nearly starved to death because of an injured foot was nursed back to health at the Wisconsin Humane Society’s Wildlife Rehabilitation Center.
Sharkey was rescued two months ago, and after being nursed back to health, she was released Wednesday on the 45th anniversary of Earth Day.
Thank you to the dedicated staff and volunteers who saved Sharkey’s life and gave her a second chance to fly the skies of Southeast Wisconsin.
