Journalism. We believe it should help you live a better life.
That’s why we spend a lot less time on publishing mug shots and a lot more time helping you understand the employment market, figure out how to spend more time with friends and family with our events calendar, and what you can do to help businesses that have opened up. Make no mistake…we aren’t shy. We tackle the big stuff, like COVID and issues around race.
And if you believe in the value of journalism — that it should help, not exploit — please consider becoming a paid member of the Racine County Eye today. We can’t do this work without you.
Nonprofit Mission and Vision Statements
Volunteer Guardian Services is provided by Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin through a grant from the Kenosha County Division of Aging and Disability Services. Goodwill provides training, employment, and supportive services for people with disabilities or disadvantages who seek greater independence.
Please provide a paragraph or so about what your organization does in the community. Include any recent achievements, projects, and goals.
Volunteer Guardian Services trains, matches and provides ongoing support for community members to become a legal decision-maker and advocate for elderly or disabled individuals who are unable to make important life decisions and who don’t have a family to help them. As little as one hour a month can positively impact the quality of life of an at-risk adult.
What would you like the general public to know about your organization and ways they can help/support you?
We are recruiting community members to become volunteer guardians for people placed in both Kenosha and Racine counties.
