One lane in each direction on Green Bay Road at 16th Street will remain closed through Saturday morning because of a water main break.

The break occurred last Wednesday morning, and the January cold snaps are probably to blame, Racine Water Utility Manager Keith Haas told The Journal Times.

Crews are expected to finish the repair to the pipe running underneath Highway 31 sometime on Thursday, but lanes will stay closed to allow the street patch cement to dry.

Drivers who usually use Green Bay Road should find alternative routes for the next couple of days, Haas added.
