First one of the year. Racine’s liveliest 10-year-old is celebrating a birthday. First Fridays marks its 10th anniversary at 5 p.m. Friday with a celebration at Uncorkt, 240 Main St. The Downtown business operators who founded the event will serve a birthday cake and unveil the 10th Anniversary First Friday logo. Then, stick around Downtown for shopping, artists and food/beverage specials. There is free admission from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Racine Art Museum (RAM), 441 Main St. The Sixth Annual International PEEPs Exhibition is now under way there. Eggs at the zoo. The Racine Zoo, 2131 N. Main St., has just the thing for kids ages 10 and younger. The annual Egg-Stravanganza has face painting, cookie decorating, arts and craft projects and a chance to meet the zoo’s Animal Ambassadors. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Regular zoo admission applies – Adults, $8; seniors, $7; kids ages 3 to 15, $6. Racine County residents, with valid photo ID, save $1. Visit www.racinezoo.org
Bunny and pancakes. The kids can meet the Easter Bunny and enjoy a pancake breakfast Saturday at the Sturtevant Fire Station, 2801 89th St. Serving from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Easter egg hunt is at 10 a.m. The price is $7 for adults; $5 for kids ages 3 through 12. Kids 2 and younger eat free. Benefits the Sturtevant Fireworks.
Family afternoon. An afternoon of fun is planned for the Fifth Annual Easter Eggstravanza at Fellowship Baptist Church, 5607 Wright Ave. (Green Bay Road and Wright Avenue). There’s an egg hunt, bounce house, games, crafts, face painting and raffle prize giveaways. The event runs from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday. It’s all free. Visit www.racinefellowship.org
From the air. The Mega Helicopter Egg Drop is back this Sunday starting at 11 a.m. at True Life Church, 9605 Spring St., Mount Pleasant. There are toys, prizes and an egg hunt. Yes, they’ll be dropping prize eggs from a helicopter. To register, visit www.truelifeministries.com
Easter Bunny time. There is still time to see the Easter Bunny at Regency Mall now through Saturday. Visits are free; photo packages are available. Visit www.shopregency-mall.com for details. Meanwhile, The Big Bunny Celebration is at 12 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Apple Holler. 5006 S. Sylvania Ave., Yorkville. Kids can see a puppet show, enjoy a treat, see baby bunnies, goats, chicks and ducklings, take a pony ride and go on an Easter egg hunt. The cost is $8 per person. Reservations are required.
