… we have a small favor to ask. Thousands of people have placed their trust in the Racine County Eye’s high-impact journalism because we focus on solutions-based journalism.
With no shareholders or billionaire owners, we can provide trustworthy journalism that focuses on helping readers.
Unlike many others, Racine County Eye’s journalism is available for everyone to read, regardless of what they can afford to pay. We do this because we believe in information equality. Greater numbers of people can keep track of events, understand their impact on people and communities, and become inspired to take meaningful action.
If there were ever a time to join us, it is now. Every contribution, however big or small, powers our journalism and sustains our future. Support the Racine County Eye from as little as $5 – it only takes a minute. Thank you.
Sturtevant trustees will meet Tuesday for a continual committee meeting, which is a bit different than how neighboring communities schedule their committee meetings.
Instead of having committee meetings at various times, Sturtevant committees meet on the same night; the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month. Each committee has its own agenda and is staffed by three trustees.
What makes this process unique is that the entire board gets to discuss each agenda item whether the topic falls under their committee or not, but only committee members vote on action items like resolutions and/or ordinance changes that require a vote of the full board.
This way, every member of the board is always up-to-speed on village business.
Village Administrator/Clerk Mary Cole, Police Chief Sean Marschke and Village Engineer/DPW Director Jeff Seitz also attend.
The continual committee meeting begins at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Village Hall, 2801 89th Street. Call (262) 886-7200.
