A caretaker for a Racine man is accused of stealing checks from his sister and cashing them without permission over the course of several years.

Hollie M. Giese, 41, is charged with forgery, uttering a forgery and felony personal identity theft for the incidents.

According to the criminal complaint filed against her in Racine County Circuit Court, Giese had access to the room where the checks were stored while she was working.

The sister told police 42 checks had been taken, signed and cashed without her permission. Security footage from the credit union, taken from November 2014 through September 2015 showed Giese cashing the checks.

When police spoke with Giese, she reportedly  admitted taking the checks and writing them out.

In total, she is accused of stealing $5,875 over that time period.
