Mount Pleasant police say a 39-year-old woman is facing felony ID theft charges after she stole a debit card and withdrew money from the victim’s account from several locations.

Jaime Doebereiner, of Mount Pleasant, was charged Tuesday with one felony count of ID theft and one misdemeanor of fraudulent use of a credit card. If convicted, she faces up to 6-3/4 years in prison and/or up to $20,000 in fines.

According to the criminal complaint, a woman called police in January to report that Doebereiner had stolen her debit card and used it to get cash from ATM machines at multiple locations in the City of Racine and the Village of Mount Pleasant. The amounts taken varied between $20 and $80 each withdrawal, and Doebereiner was identified from ATM surveillance photos.

The criminal complaint shows that a $5,000 warrant had been issued for Doebereiner’s arrest, but she is now in the Racine County Jail. Court records do not show this case against her, and online jail records do not list a bail amount.
