During the investigation, officials developed two suspects in Estes’ death, which was ruled as “suspicious in nature.”

Hurdis Burns, 59, and Marco Verdiguel-Huarota, 53, were arrested for hiding a corpse.

ORIGINAL STORY: The body of a woman was found at about 10 a.m. Thursday outside an abandoned home located at 1022 North Memorial Drive.

Investigators have ruled the woman’s death as suspicious and a major crime scene was activated. They left the scene just after 3:15 p.m.

The name of the woman has not been released, said Lt. David Wohlgemuth of the Racine Police Department.

“We want to make contact with the family first and you’ll understand why tomorrow when we issue the press release,” he said. “There were some definite oddities to this one and we need to explain things first before we get it to the newspaper or online.”

According to a neighbor, the woman was found near the picnic table.
