Nonprofit Mission and Vision Statements:
The mission of Women and Children’s Horizons is to provide support, shelter, education, training and healing services to victims of sexual and domestic abuse, their families and the community.

WCH supports individuals of all genders and background. We serve men, women, and children alike. Our agency offers various services such as legal, domestic violence, LGBTQ, sexual assault, and human trafficking, advocacy in addition to a batter’s treatment program, an emergency shelter, and a transitional living program. All of our services are free, confidential and are available in Spanish. We also have a resale store named Nifty Thrifty which generates proceeds that directly benefit Women and Children’s Horizons.
Through these proceeds, we are able to meet our clients’ needs with services such as our voucher program, which allows our clients to purchase those much-needed items. Many times our clients arrive at our offices with only the clothes on their backs. Some of our most recent miles stones include expanding our organization and opening an office in the Salem area in order to better serve the community west of the I and hosting multiple free events during the month of April for Sexual Assault Awareness Month. These events focused on educating our community and providing information about the various resources available. Most recently, we opened up additional rooms and are now able to provide emergency shelter services to men and their families.
What would you like the general public to know about your organization and ways they can help/support you (volunteers, donations, etc.)?
There are many ways to connect with our agency’s mission. One way is by volunteering. Whether it’s helping to sort clothes at Nifty, registering guests during an event, or helping with maintenance projects, there is an opportunity for you. Another way to show your support is sponsoring or participating during our annual fundraisers: Mardi Gras, Bowl-a-thon, and Golf Outing.
The easiest way to connect with us is by following our social media accounts and sharing our posts. Every time a post is shared, you helping us create awareness and educating your loved ones about the important cause of domestic violence and sexual assault. We can always use items such as paper towels, tissue paper, toilet paper, larger sized diapers, clothing, and body care items for our emergency shelter.
