Entries from the first-ever Great Lakes Chalk Art Competition (GLCAC) are on display through July 16 at the Racine Arts Council’s ArtSpace Gallery, 316 Sixth St.

The 15 unique art works were created during the Monument Square Art Festival June 11-12. Real Racine, the county’s destination marketing organization, sponsored the chalk art competition.

Kelly Witte of Racine won first place and the People’s Choice award in the competition. Dave Brenner of Chelsea, Mich., placed second. Liz Lewandowski of Mequon placed third.

The GLCAC works are on 4-by-4 foot Masonite panels. Each piece is available for sale via a public raffle. The winners will be announced on the exhibit’s closing day. Raffle tickets are $5 each or two for $9. Proceeds benefit the Racine Arts Council.

You’re invited to view the GLCAC pieces and purchase raffle tickets at the ArtSpace Gallery. The gallery is open 12 to 5 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
