Racine, WI — The Racine PTA Council has announced the winners in its annual scholarship program. This year, 22 graduating seniors from Racine Unified High Schools received scholarships donated by the Council and individuals and organizations who partner with the Council in this endeavor.

The John Aceto Memorial Scholarship was presented to Madeline Cerny of J.I. Case High School. Leah May, also of Case High School, received the PTA Council Aceto Memorial Scholarship.

The Hilda Greenquist Memorial PTA Council Scholarship was presented to Case High School graduate Laiza Esparaza. The Joan Dykstra PTA Council Scholarship went to Walden III High School graduate Jamillah Jallow. Two additional PTA Council Scholarships were awarded to Rebecca Richard of Walden III and Esteban Flores of Washington Park High School.

Three Jim and Carla Wilks Scholarships were presented. The recipients were Isabella Wentorf of Washington Park High School, Beckett Pawlak of Case High School, and Corinna Asdigian of The R.E.A.L. School.

The two Theo and Jan Abrahamson Engineering/STEM Scholarships were awarded to Emily Kildahl of The R.E.A.L. School and Madison Stephens of Walden III High School. The two Theo and Jan Abrahamson Teaching/Nursing Scholarships went to Mary Weisensel and Amanda Cieczka, both graduates of Horlick High School.

Two Tim Westrich Memorial Scholarships were awarded to Allison Gifford and Nikolas Ramirez, both graduates of Case High School.

The Mary Carlsen Memorial Scholarship was presented to Elise Kaesermann of Case High School. The Russell L. Carlsen Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Torin Slaughter of Case High School. The Dan Grosse Memorial Scholarship went to Sienna Lee Uran of Case High School.

The two Domino’s Pizza Scholarships were awarded to Eliana Hanson of Walden III High School and Tamara Nedeljkovic of Case High School.

Two Onnink Family Scholarships were awarded to Abdiel “Hugo” Arteaga and Mia Pascucci, both graduates of Case High School.

About the Racine PTA Council

The Racine PTA Council is made up of representatives from the PTAs and PTSAs in the Racine Unified School District. The scholarship program started in 1954 with a single award of $100 and has grown steadily since that time; in the past ten years alone, more than $200,000 in scholarships has been awarded to deserving RUSD students.
