Obituary for Christi Claire Beerntsen

March 14, 1952 – April 15, 2024

Christi Claire Beerntsen, age 72, passed away at her residence peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, April 15, 2024. She was born in Racine on March 14, 1952, the daughter of the late Clarence and Mildred (née Nielsen) Beerntsen.

Christi received her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an MBA from Marquette University. She was employed as Senior Technology Manager at AT&T for 27 years until her retirement in 2001. Christi had a passion for ethnic music and dance; dancing with the Racine International Folk Dancers especially brought her joy. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family and friends.

She was loved dearly and will be sadly missed by her sister, Patricia Patriarca; brother-in-law, John Carbonneau; nieces and nephews: Traci Verwey (Ray Verwey), Jeff Patriarca, Dwayne Carbonneau, Deanne Carbonneau, and Tim Patriarca (James Wang); grand-niece Amanda Verwey, and grand-nephew Shane Verwey; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Joanne Carbonneau, and brother-in-law, Frank Patriarca.

Services

A celebration of Christi’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 23 at the Maresh Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family for Visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Private interment will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery in Evansville, Wis. Memorials to the Racine Zoo, Riverbend Nature Center or Music and More have been suggested by the family.
