Obituary for Nina Unterbrink

April 25, 1929 — April 18, 2024

Nina Unterbrink (née Rizzo), 94, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024, peacefully comforted by her loving family.

She was born in Racine to the late Tony and Lena (née Lascola) Rizzo. Nina was united in marriage to the love of her life, Milton Unterbrink, on April 28, 1952. Sadly, he preceded her in death on July 23, 2017.

Nina was a longtime member of North Pointe United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #34. She was a homemaker and loved to cook for her family. Her dogs brought her joy and she enjoyed spoiling them.

Nina is survived by her daughter, Wanda (Craig) Faris; and sons, Wayne Unterbrink and Danny (Wendy) Unterbrink; grandchildren, Heidi, Tricia and Jacob; and great-grandchildren, Brennan, Aubrey, Adeline, Mia and Dominic.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Rose Byrd, Mamie (Emmet) Algiers, Mary (Forrest) Braughton, and Josephine (Cornelius) Cantwell; and her brother, Frank Rizzo.

Services

Funeral services for Nina will be held at 1 p.m. on April 26 at North Pointe United Methodist Church, 3825 Erie St. Private family interment will take place in West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family from 11 a.m. until the time of services.
