A 22-year-old man was shot in the back Monday night, and Racine police are asking for the public’s help to find the shooter.

RAPD Sgt. Adam Malacara in a press release Tuesday afternoon confirmed that police and rescue were dispatched at 10 p.m. Monday to the 900 block of Memorial Drive for reports of shots fired. When they arrived on scene, they found the victim with a gunshot wound to his lower back.

The man was transported to the hospital for treatment of his wound, which was not considered life threatening.

Police do not have a suspect in custody yet. If anyone has information about this incident, they can leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at (262) 636-9330, or via text by typing RACS with the tip to 274637 (CRIMES).
