Originally, the band Los Lonely Boys were to kick off the festival, but they are now playing Friday night, said Niki Corbett, marketing director for Kraut Music Fest.

But the band change isn’t the only addition to the event, which is slated for June 18 through June 21 at the Mount Pleasant-Caledonia Park, 9614 County Road K, in Franksville.

“Thursday is also going to be bike night,” Corbett said. “We’re promoting bike night with Porcaro’s Indian Motorcycle of Racine. They want to do a ride together to Kraut Fest.”

Indian Motorcycles of Racine, 522 6th St., is hosting soft opening from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 2.

“They are going to have a little cocktail party with music for their soft opening and they are also going to help kick off Kraut Music Fest,” Corbett said.

Ticket sales have gone well.

“People are really interest in the event,” she said. “There’s been a lot of community support for it…it’s fun to hear people talk about it.”

The ticket prices have also changed. Originally the tickets only included one main stage, but they now include the main stage and the Jaegermeister stage.

The festival started 52 years ago and ended 12 years ago because of lack of funding.

Ray Stibeck, owner of Route 20 Outhouse, said the festival won’t just be about sauerkraut, but will emphasize a variety of music — from reggae to country to rock music.

Stibeck plans to have more than 30 bands at the four-day event, including Skid Row, Los Lonely Boys, and Gloriana.

Here’s the schedule.
