The Koss Family Foundation wants to give more smiles to families coping with a cancer diagnosis, and they’re hoping their first Fall Family Fest will go a long way toward helping them achieve their goal.

From 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, everyone is invited out to the Ironwood Chophouse, 20715 Durand Ave, Union Grove. For $5 admission each, kids can paint pumpkins, create a t-shirt, participate in a costume contest and fish for candy from a pirate ship.

There will also be a full meal and candy apple bar available for purchase.

Proceeds will benefit the Koss Family Foundation’s efforts to relieve some of the financial burdens families have to contend with on top of their everyday lives – things like housing, utilities, gas and groceries. The foundation was founded by Becky and Steve Koss, of Racine, after Steve was diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer in January 2015.
