If you were watching the Green Bay Packers home game open at Lambeau Field on Sunday, you might have recognized some familiar faces during the half-time show.
The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Warhawk Marching Band took the field during the halftime show and seven members of the band hail from Racine County.
Here are the locals who played at Lambeau Field Sunday:
- Gabrielle Boldt, Caledonia, who is studying at UW-Whitewater, and plays tenor sax in the marching band.
- Rachel Briggs, Burlington, who is studying Music Education at UW-Whitewater, and plays clarinet in the marching band
- Nathaniel Lauer, Waterford, who is studying music at UW-Whitewater, and plays percussion in the marching band
- Daren Moran, Union Grove, who is studying biology at UW-Whitewater, and plays percussion in the marching band
- Samantha Pinchard, Racine, who is studying Music Education Instrumental at UW-Whitewater, and plays flute/piccolo in the marching band
- Nicole Scarce, Caledonia, who is studying at UW-Whitewater, and plays trumpet in the marching band
- Rebecca Weber, Waterford, who is studying music at UW-Whitewater, and plays flute in the marching band
In front of more than 80,000 people, the 170-member band performed at Lambeau Field.
“We are thrilled to be able to return to Lambeau Field,” said Glenn Hayes, director of bands at UW-Whitewater. “The students have been working with a strong focus and determination to give an incredible performance after only being together for eight days of rehearsal. I could not be more proud of each and every one of them!”
Titled “Marvel at Us,” the band paid homage to the musical scores of the blockbuster Marvel Comics films, including “Spider-Man” and “Iron Man.”
