RACINE — A search warrant – after authorities observed a 17-year-old Racine man on Facebook Live with two pounds of marijuana and a firearm – led to four criminal charges filed last week against that same man.

Carlos Collazo is charged with felony counts of possession of a firearm by an adjudicated delinquent and possession with intent to deliver/manufacture THC, along with two misdemeanor bail-jumping charges.

The two felonies carry a maximum potential prison term of 16 years and a $35,000 fine.

Collazo remains in custody in the Racine County Jail on a $10,000 cash bond.

The criminal complaint: Firearm, drugs found while executing search warrant

Members of the Racine Police Department Violent Crimes and Intelligence Unit, along with additional law enforcement officers, executed a search warrant at a residence on Blaine Avenue.

Collazo had been mentioned as being involved in an incident on April 7 when a juvenile shot himself in the leg. Police also saw the defendant on Facebook Live.

As police announced their presence at the residence, the defendant was observed retreating from the first-floor northwest bedroom to the second floor. He was then located and detained.

Police found a firearm in a west bedroom, along with a “large bag” of suspected marijuana that tested positive for 25 grams of THC. During their search, police also found a backpack that contained nine plastic baggies with what later tested positive for 626.3 grams of THC.

Cash in various denominations was found in the backpack, while a digital scale with marijuana residue was found on the bedroom floor.

Police placed the defendant in the backseat of an unmarked patrol vehicle, and one of the officers observed that he “was moving around so much that the vehicle was moving.” Collazo was removed from the vehicle, and police found a .40-caliber round on the backseat where he had been seated.

Collazo is due back in Racine County Circuit Court on June 6, for an 8:30 a.m. preliminary hearing.
