Racine County Economic Development Corporation (RCEDC) director Gordy Kacala will retire from his position after being on the job for 24 years.
“It has been a tremendous honor to serve this organization and work with all the extremely talented and dedicated public and private sector people at RCEDC, and throughout Racine County,” Kacala said.
Kacala, who lives in Caledonia, will remain on the job until July 31.
“Gordy has served RCEDC and the people of Racine County with dedication and I wish him the best in his future endeavors,” said Tom Shinners, president of RCEDC and vice president of finance and human resources at Poclain Hydraulics.
Shinners has formed a search committee to find a replacement for Kacala. They hope to have Kacala’s replacement onboard sometime in the spring 2014.
RCEDC is one of the oldest private non-profit economic development services in the state and was started in 1983. The organization helps recruit businesses, offers businesses retention and expansion services, and helps promote entrepreneurship.
