Two men suspected of being part of a drug trafficking organization in Racine were arrested Thursday, June 25 by Racine area law enforcement officials, according to a press release by the Racine County Metro Drug Unit.
A 26-year-old man is facing eight counts of delivering cocaine and the 28-year-old man is facing 13 counts of delivering cocaine. Neither men have officially been charged by the Racine County District Attorney’s Office.
Agents from the drug unit, investigators from the Racine County Sheriff’s Department, and patrol deputies executed a search warrant at a home in the 4200 block of Spring Street and in the 3800 block of Kinzie Avenue. They also seized a loaded semi-automatic .45 caliber handgun, a .357 revolver and a short-barreled shotgun from the Kinzie Avenue residence.
Agents had made a number of controlled buys of cocaine from the group, which totaled about six ounces.
The search warrants were part of an ongoing, six-month long investigation into a drug trafficking organization. A drug trafficking organization has at least five people who are engaged in generating money or assets through illegal drug distribution and has a defined leader, according to the press release.
The drug trafficking organization operated primarily in Racine. The street value is not being reported because the price varies.
Law enforcement officials are still investigating the case. Additional charges are expected from the Racine County District Attorney’s Office.
