Racine police say a 20-year-old man is facing child sex assault charges after he had sex with a 15-year-old girl multiple times, and one occasion was recorded and distributed on social media.
Michael Putzer, of Racine, was charged Friday in Racine County Circuit Court with one felony count of 
repeated sexual assault of a child and one misdemeanor count each of contributing to truancy and obstruction. If he is convicted of all charges, he faces up to over 40 years in prison and/or up to $115,000 in fines.
According to the criminal complaint, officers were called Jan. 4 to Washington Park High School for a report of a sex tape circulating among students. When police arrived, they spoke to a school counselor who told them a 15-year-old female student had submitted a written statement detailing a sexual encounter she had Dec. 21 with Putzer at a nearby home after he called school to check her out. There were other people in the room at the time and one of them recorded the incident even though the girl said they couldn’t see anything because the sex occurred under a blanket.
Police say the girl didn’t know the video was being made until a few days later when friends told her about it. She did say that she and Putzer had sex on at least two other occasions as well.
Putzer was spotted by officers out on patrol, the complaint reads, and he ran despite commands to stop. When police caught up to him, Putzer was taken into custody and transported to the Racine Police Department for questioning. During the conversation, Putzer told police that he knew the girl was only 15 and that he could get in trouble for having sex with her.
Officers say Putzer admitted to calling Park to check the girl out and taking her to a friend’s house where they had sex under a blanket. He also told police the friend and his brother were in the room at the time and that the little brother is who made the recording.
Putzer remains in the Racine County Jail on a $5,000 cash bond. He will next be in court Jan. 14 for his preliminary hearing.
