Racine police say a 28-year-old woman is facing felony drug charges for cooking and selling crack cocaine from her home where two children also live. The house is also located near Walden School.
Octavia Barker, of Racine, was charged Thursday in Racine County Circuit Court with one felony count each of 
possession of cocaine with the intent to deliver and maintaining a drug trafficking place as well as two counts of first degree recklessly endangering safety. If convicted, she faces up to 54 years in prison and/or up to $160,000 in fines.
According to the criminal complaint, investigators Tuesday executed a no-knock search warrant at Barker’s home and located quantities of cash in various denominations and rubber-banded together. They also found almost 20 grams of crack cocaine; a digital scale; and Inositol, an agent commonly used to cut crack cocaine. Both of Barker’s children were present in the home at the time of the search warrant.
Police say cocaine residue was found on surfaces that could have been accessed by the children, including on the floor of one of the kids’ bedrooms. During questioning, Barker said she’d been selling crack cocaine since last December for extra money and was bringing in around $1,200 per month. She said she did not cook or package the drugs while the kids were present, but she did say they were home sometimes when customers would come to her house to buy crack from her.
Barker remains in the Racine County Jail on a $10,000 cash bond. She will next be in court March 17 for her preliminary hearing.
