Grab your chance to win big and help the 2017 Sturtevant fireworks show get off the ground at the same time: raffle tickets are now on sale with a grand prize of $10,000.
Unlike the first raffle for the 2016 fireworks, which was a 50/50 raffle with a guaranteed first prize of $15,000, the 2017 raffle will award three prizes; the $10,000 grand prize, a $3,000 first prize, and a $2,000 second prize.
The drawing will take place during the annual Dinner with Santa on December 3.
Another change is that instead of 300 tickets selling for $100, the village has 600 tickets available for $50 each.
Trustee Michele Duchow is chair of the Property Grounds, Recreation & Fireworks Committee, and she initiated discussion last month about how best to conduct the raffle this year. After a short discussion Tuesday, her committee agreed to move forward with the tiered-prize model and the lower-cost tickets.
