Marquee HaynesA Racine man was charged with two misdemeanors after he beat his pregnant girlfriend.

Marquee Haynes, 22, was charged by the Racine County District Attorney’s Office with battery, domestic abuse, and disorderly conduct, domestic abuse.

According to the criminal complaint, Haynes grabbed his pregnant girlfriend by the neck, threw her down on the bed and punched her several times. He had accused her of cheating on him. The woman contacted a family member who then called the police.

Officers with the Racine Police Department found Haynes hiding in a boat at about 3:14 p.m. Saturday in the 1500 block of Winslow Street.

Haynes is being held on a $250 cash bond. A pre-trial conference has been set for 3:15 p.m. Aug. 17.
