The Racine Branch of the NAACP will honor Michael Shields many years of service to the community with a Roast at Infusino’s Banquet Hall on Sunday, June 24, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. “Roasters” will include many of Michael Shields’ close friends and colleagues.

Michael is well-known in the community as one of City Council’s most long-standing and experienced former aldermen, serving the Third District from 1989 to 2017 for all but two years. He is a retired Racine County social worker, and continues to be active among a number of community groups.

The Racine NAACP Roast of Michael Shields will be MC’ed by a close friend of Michael’s, Stanley Woodard, who serves as a public defender in Madison and holds a degree in Journalism.

“I look forward to sharing some of my secrets with you about Michael, but the real good stuff I’m saving for my book!!” said Woodard.
